Three Morrison Foerster Antitrust Partners Selected as Faculty for the 74th ABA Antitrust Law Spring Meeting
Morrison Foerster is pleased to announce that three of its antitrust partners—Alex Okuliar, Lisa Phelan, and Marie-Claire Strawbridge—have been selected to serve as faculty at the 74th ABA Antitrust Law Spring Meeting, taking place March 25–27, 2026 in Washington, D.C.
Widely regarded as the premier global gathering of antitrust, competition, consumer protection, and data privacy professionals, the Spring Meeting convenes senior enforcement officials, leading practitioners, in-house counsel, economists, and academics from around the world. Selection as faculty is highly competitive and reflects recognition by peers and leaders within the antitrust bar. The firm’s representation across multiple panels underscores Morrison Foerster’s depth and continued leadership in shaping competition policy and enforcement worldwide.
Enforcement Priorities Under Trump 2.0
Presented by the Civil Practice & Procedure and Federal Civil Enforcement Committees
Alex Okuliar, chair of Morrison Foerster’s Global Antitrust Law Group, will speak on a panel examining key enforcement trends emerging during the second Trump administration and what they may signal for the years ahead. The discussion will address evolving agency approaches to merger remedies, private equity, and other priority areas shaping U.S. antitrust enforcement. Alex’s participation reflects his leading role advising clients on complex merger and conduct matters amid a rapidly shifting enforcement landscape.
Work in Progress: Will Labor Enforcement Last?
Presented by the Antitrust Law Journal, Antitrust Magazine, and International Committee
Lisa Phelan will serve as speaker on a panel exploring the growing focus on labor markets as a central priority for competition authorities in the United States and globally. The discussion will examine whether labor-focused enforcement represents a durable structural shift in antitrust policy. The panel convenes senior competition officials and international enforcement leaders, underscoring the global significance of the topic. Lisa’s participation highlights her extensive experience in high-stakes government investigations and litigation — including many of the DOJ’s labor market prosecutions — and her work developing evolving enforcement theories.
Champions League: Industrial or Competition Policy
Presented by the Books & Treatises, International, and Mergers & Acquisitions Committees
Marie-Claire Strawbridge will speak on a panel examining the intersection of industrial policy and competition enforcement across major jurisdictions. The discussion will consider how merger control and national security frameworks, including evolving European guidelines, are responding to calls to foster national or regional champions. Marie-Claire’s participation reflects Morrison Foerster’s strength in cross-border merger control and European competition matters at a time of significant regulatory evolution.
Morrison Foerster looks forward to participating in this year’s Spring Meeting and engaging with colleagues across the global antitrust community as they examine the issues shaping competition law and enforcement in the years ahead.
